His film Jo Bole So Nihaal(2005) was in news as it had some issues with Sikh communities and had problems at time of its release. After JO BOLE SO NIHAAL, there was talk that Rahul Rawail would take it easy for a few months and then announce his next movie. But the film-maker, who has worked with names such as Sunny Deol, Madhuri Dixit, SRK and Kajol in the past, has decided to do something daringly different by making Buddha Mar Gaya. Rawail’s last film is Buddha Mar Gaya which is a comedy starring Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher, Om Puri, Rakhi Sawant and Ranvir Shorey sadly the film could not make an impact at the box office. Becoming a patron of SAPA (School of Asian Performing Arts ), Rahul is committed to this project and in imparting his knowledge to budding future film directors.
