Raima Sen was born on 11 November 1979 her full name is Raima Dev she is daughter of actress Moon Moon Sen and the granddaughter of legendary actress Suchitra Sen. Her sister, Riya Sen, is also in the Bollywood industry. Their father is Bharat Dev Varma , scion of the erstwhile royal family of Tripura state.
She made her debut in the film Godmother, which was a critically acclaimed success, but her minor role may have been overlooked in favour of the protagonist, played by Shabana Azmi. She then starred in the film Daman playing Raveena Tandon's daughter, where her small performance was appreciated. Her breakthrough role came when she starred in the Rituparno Ghosh's film Chokher Bali. She won much praise for her role as the simple, submissive Ashalata. After a few more average movies she had a critically acclaimed hit in 2005 with Parineeta. Since then she has had two more hits with the action thriller Dus and the Bengali film Antar Mahal. Riya and Raima Sen come together for the first time in English film, The Bong Connection directed by Anjan Dutt, but not had any scenes together. The sisters earlier starred together in Bachelor, which never released. She was noted for some small appearances in films like Parineeta,Dus, Eklavya and Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. In recent years.Her last released film is Manorama Six Feet Under. Currently she is busy working for Sachin Yardi’s Khel Khel Mein And Aparna Sen’s The Japanese Wife.
