Rajkumar Kohli was born on Sep 14th 1930.
Rajkumar Kohli started his filmi career in Hindi films by producing Shart (1969) which was directed by Kewal Misra and staring Sanjay Khan and Mumtaz in lead, after producing couple of films he turned director in film Kahani Hum Sab Ki(1973). Famous for directing several popular Bollywood films in the 1970s and 1980s with ensemble casts such as Nagin (1976), Jaani Dushman (1979), Badle Ki Aag (1982) and Raj Tilak (1984). His films frequently featured actors including Sunil Dutt, Dharmendra, Jeetendra, Shatrughan Sinha and actresses such as Reena Roy and Rekha. Nagin (1976) will be consider his best film as it was the film which brought Rajkumar Kohli in hit directors list, in cashing the success of Nagin he made another Film Jaani Dushman (1979) which was a major hit of its time, Both the mentioned films were multi starer and were huge hits of 70s. He could not make an impact with his later produced and directed films as most of them were flop. Most of his later films are thought to be copied of some hit films of his own or others. His Jeene Nahi Doonga (1984) was direct left from Pakistani Punjabi super duper hit Mula Jat , he followed the same track by making Pati Patni Aur Tawaif which was again a copy of Pakistan Hit film Bazar-rHusan which stared Salma Agha in same role which he did in original one . He introduced his son Arman Kohli in the multi-starrer action film Virodhi (1992) which was a flop. He directed his son again in Aulad Ke Dushman (1993) and Qahar (1997) which also failed to launch his son's career. After a hiatus he returned in 2002 and relaunched his son in another multi-starrer film in the style of his classic 1970s films Nagin and Jaani Dushman. The film was titled Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani. However when released it was a box office disaster and was heavily criticised for being one of the worst films ever made.
