Rajababu is the owner of a tea garden. Rajababu always stands up against the wrongs taking place in the village. A military captain named Sunder Chatterjee cames to the village and meets a girl called Rani and they fall in love with each other. Rani becomes pregnant. In the meantime, Sunder goes back to war and is injured in a blast, but Rani thinks Sunder is dead. To keep Rani's honour Raja babu marries Rani and accepts Sunder's son as his own. Sunder recovers from his injury and comes back to the village only to find that Rani is married to Raja babu and that she has a son. Shankar, another tea estate owner tells Sunder that Rani's son is actually his son as Rajababu is impotent. Shankar kidnap's Sundar's son and starts blackmaling Rajababu. Rajababu is asked to come to a spot and pay money to Shankar and take the baby back. When rajababu goes there there is a confontation between him and Shankar in which he gets killed while tying to save the baby. Sunder and Rani are united but the baby continues to consider the late Rajababu as his father.
