    Rajeshwari Sachdev is a name that needs no introduction. She is an awesome dancer and a famous singer. She has done films and lots of work on television as well as theatre. She has done less quantity work but that all work is quality work!!! She has been known as a very good dancer and yes she has proved herself well as a talented singer, beautiful dancer and a versatile actress.
    She has also been awarded the National Award for her work in Marathi and Hindi Cinema / Theatre.
    She is better known for her role in Shyam Benegal's film Sardari Begum which was made in 1996, she had also won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1997 for the same film.
    She was born in Mumbai and her birth name is Raj Kaur Sachdev.
    Rajeshwari was actually born to a Punjabi father and a South Indian mother in Mumbai.
    Her father Inderjit Sachdev, is also an actor. Her Spouse Varun Badola is a televison actor whom she got engaged on 12th of May 2004 and then later on got married on the 24th of November 2004.
    After completing her graduation from Guru Nanak Khalsa College (King's Circle) in Mumbai, she started her career on stage doing plays with Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA).
    From 1994 to 2001 she co-hosted the Zee TV musical show, Titan Antakshari. In 2005, along with her husband Varun Badola, she was seen in a reality TV Dance competition show, Nach Baliye.
    She blazed the television screen in “Margarita” & bagged the Screen Videocon Award for the Best Actress.
    She went on to doing films winning the Maharashtra State Government Award for Best Actress in her debut Marathi film "Aaytya Gharat Gharoba" (1991) directed by Sachin.
    Her second film was Shyam Benegal's “Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda” (1992), thereafter she became a regular in his films, and was casted in, “Mammo” (1994), “Sardari Begum” (1996), “Samar” (1999), “Hari-Bhari” (2000), “Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero” (2005), etc. and lately, Shyam Benegal’s “Welcome To Sajjanpur” (2008).
    Rajeshwari's big break came in the form of the Hollywood epic "Little Buddha" (1993) opposite Keanu Reeves and directed by Bernado Bertolucci. With 13 years of training in Bharat Natyam, the only other field left to explore was singing. As of 2004 she has three pop CDs; "Hulle Hullare", "Mukhda Piya Ka" and "Ummang".
    Her recent song - "Latthe di chadar, utthe salati rang maayian", featuring Rajeshwari and Manav Gohil in the video. The song was a super hit and became a marriage number. She has also done a playback singing in the film “Hari Bhari” (2000) and in the “The Perfect Husband” (2003)
    She has also appeared in HIV awareness ads with husband - Varun Badola.
    Rajeshwari believes in giving few and good work. That’s why we don't see Rajeshwari often but whenever we see her, she is always appreciated. Rajeshwari's recent appreciated role in Indian television was “Rihhaee”. Where she played the role of MADHAVI, who works in an N.G.O. - NCCW {National Commission For Crime Against Women} and fights back the cruelties faced by a women in a day to day life.
    On television she has done shows like – Rihhaee, Nach Baliye, Anchored a Saturday show of Popkorn, Margarita with Milind Soman, She has also worked with Ekta Kapoor in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, She is now seen anchoring K for Kishore on Sony Entertainment Television.
    Rajeshwari is currently busy with the UTV show "Arranged Marriage".
