  • Ramu is back…

Rakht Charitra - I rating: 5 out of 10(Aakash Barvalia wrote on 28 Oct 2010)

If you guys are thinking that Ramu is back again with his hits or flops, then you guys are thinking wrong. Ramu is back again with his all sought of old formulas which he has used it in his films like Satya, Company, Sarkar, and etc. Lets see in how much of amount he has used all of his tactics.

    Story:
It’s the story of about one family, whose father was working under one big politician in some South India village. He was the right hand of that big politician, but one of his associate was very jealous of that man. He played some politics and washed the brain of that politician against his own right hand person. Results he was killed badly, and then one of his son (Sushant Singh) decided to take revenge against that politician and his associate. But later he was also killed, and then his small brother as Ravi (Vivek Oberoi), who was studying far away somewhere in the city, decided to take revenge against that politician, his associate, and his son Bukka Reddy (Abhimanyu Singh), for killing his family. Before the interval could complete, Vivek had already killed that politician and his associate. The only man left was Bukka Reddy. Post interval the story takes a political turn when Bukka Redd planed for his big brother to elect in the coming elections. But the Superstar Shivaji Rao (Shatrughan Sinha) stands in the opposite side, and so he decided to hire Vivek as his associate to fight against Bukka Reddy. Thus all the political tactics were being played by Vivek with the help of the Superstar Shivaji Rao to defeat Bukka Reddy. Later Bukka Reddy was killed and Vivek becomes the next Sarkar.

    My view:
Ram Gopal has made many films related to politics, underworld, and so on. Some of them were hit and some of them were flops. He made his mark in the genre of political drama from the film Sarkar. But after that all of his films with the same genre were not that successful. Either it went flops or it went average films. In this film Rakht Charitra – 1, he had used all of his old formulas and tactics which he had used in his films like Sarkar, Sarkar Raj, Company, etc.

The entire storyline of the film is almost same if you must have seen all of his films. You can say that it’s a mixture of all the Ramu’s film. But as it was nothing new, the overall drama formed by Ramu, scene by scene, were gripping and interesting, till pre-interval. But after the post interval, the story line was a bit dragged through its end. And before the start of the climax till the end of the climax, the story was literally moving very slow. And at one point of time you would surely think to get up from your seat. Also at the very start of the film, the story of the film was very clichéd till the entry of Vivek Oberoi comes. After that the movie lifted gradually.

Direction by Ramu was good, as per his old same genres. It was nothing new given by Ramu. Music was also decent as per the genre. The film picked up only by the performances given by Vivek Oberol with a spectacular supported by Shatughan Sinha and Abhimanyu Singh. Previously Vivek was appeared in Prince (2010), but it failed badly at the box office. This time ‘Vivek’ is actually back with something. He had given a startling performance in this film. For me I would only watch Rakht Charitra – 2, just to watch his performance again. Shatrughan Sinha had also given a power pack act. His way of delivering dialogue, his body language, his looks, his style, all of it was just speechless. Till date I have never seen Shatrughan in this role and in this act. I guess this would be his one of the best role in his entire career. We would surely want him more in many movies; and the same goes for Vivek Oberoi too. As in a villainous role, Abhimnayu Singh played his part of act in a very proper and apt manner. His characterization was good, and he had given an appropriate justice to his characterization. Rest of the artist’s was in a good supporting role.

    Final Verdict:
This movie is just watchable for the strong performance given by Vivek Oberoi, in a strong support given by Shatrughan Sinha and Abhimanyu Singh. And rest, for the story, its nothing new inside. Rakht Charitra – 2 will be just watchable for the above performances only.

    Rating:
    2.5 / 5
