Ramesh Behl is a producer-cum-director of Bollywood films. He made quite a few movies, few of which were hits.

Ramesh’s first production was The Train (1970) starring Rajesh Khanna and Nanda. The movie managed to do fairly well at the box-office. In 1972, Ramesh’s 2nd production Jawani Diwani, starring Randhir Kapoor and Jaya Bhaduri, was released. It was a hit and his position in the industry strengthened. The music of the film is remembered even today. Ramesh’s next release Dil Diwana (1974) starring Randhir Kapoor, Mumtaz and Jaya Bhaduri, failed to win hearts. In 1978, Ramesh produced and also directed his first film Kasme Vaade, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rakhee, whose collections were fairly good. The movie was critically acclaimed, especially Amitabh’s performance was praised a lot. He then produced Baseraa (1981), starring Rakhee and Shashi Kapoor, which was a good movie. In 1981, he directed Harjaee, starring Randhir Kapoor and Tina Munim, whose collections were relatively poor. In 1982, Ramesh produced Yeh Vaada Raha, starring Rishi Kapoor, Poonam Dhillon and Tina Munim. The movie did fairly well and its music is still a rage. He then produced and directed Pukar (1983), starring Amitabh Bachchan and Randhir Kapoor. His next film was Jawaani (1984), starring debutants Karan Shah and Neelam Kothari. In 1987 came his next release Apne Apne, starring Jeetendra, Hema Malini and Rekha. The movie failed, but it’s music was widely appreciated. He then produced a couple of films viz. Anjaane Rishte (1989) starring Ashok Kumar and Alok Nath, and Indrajeet (1991) starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jayapradha, both of which gathered poor collections.

Ramesh Behl is the father of writer-director-producer Goldie Behl. He played small roles in a few films like Anamika (1973), Humshakal (1974), Qaid (1975) and Anjaane Rishte (1989).
