'TAGLINE' TACTICS: Three words = Friendship + Betrayal + Revenge are probably the most erratically used actions which dominated the history of nearly all civilizations across the world...Starting from the land of Pharaohs, dated back 3000 BC, till today, the very basic longing for love encompassing several trajectories of human behaviour have influenced different forms of art...For instance: Literature/ Dance/ Painting/ Music..& the modern era, Movies too !! The flashy tagline of Priyadarshan's latest Hindi film 'Rangrezz' (which is a Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster ... » read more

In the past number of times, You might have witnessed many films on Friendship and Love. Rangrezz is yet another film which revolves around true and undying Friendship and the struggle of Friends who try to unite two lovers.

The film is a re-make of the Tamil film Naadodigal [2009] which was remade in various Indian languages. A tale of friendship with a love story integrated in the plot line. The film narrates the story of Rishi Deshpande (Jackky Bhagnani) and his two other friends who lives in Slum and who attempt to unite another friend with his lady-love. ... » read more

The movie is quite different from other love stories that we usually see in Hindi films. Here, the main lead is helping his friend enjoy a successful love story. So, all the paapad that he has to 'baylo' for it is highlighted in the film.

The film is enjoyable, but songs are inserted zabardasti, which spoils the flow of the film. Jackky and other actors are strictly okay, nothing great. Rajpal Yadav was good. Priyadarshan has directed well. But the movie can be watched once, if at all you want to watch it. » read more

Priyadarshan’s films have been growing increasingly from bad to worse and his latest film Rangrezz, a remake of the Tamil hit Naadodigal, joins the list. As the film plays I dread with fear as I might have to stop watching one of my favourite director’s films.

Rishi (Bhagnani) is a jobless chawl guy who hangs out with his pals Pakkya (Verma) and Winu (Nagpal). A long-lost love-lorn friend shows up, and his sad story gives them a mission. Off they go, just like that, to unite the lovers in the face of all odds. Wow wish such people existed in real life!

Way back, Tina Turner sang "What's love got to do with it?"

Now in Rangrezz, the question is spun into a spunky dizzying drama of brutal love and betrayal. When love comes to shove, all hell breaks loose.

It's been a while since Priyadarshan made us sit up and watch in rapt attention. Visually and in terms of the content, Rangrezz is his best work in years.

In what must rank as one of the most gripping elopement sequences written in the history of celluloid courtship, three friends, who look like they've walked out of Kai Po Che when Chetan Bhagat was not looking, get together to abduct a powerful minister's daughter from a crowded temple to unite her with their lovelorn friend.

The entire sequence lasts for a good 10 minutes. It is shot with the razor-sharp alacrity of» Read full review
