    Harshvarshan Malik (Amitabh Bachchan), the founder of the first private news channel in India, India 24/7, he is Harvard-educated and is India’s most respected media personality and a hardcore upholder of journalistic ethics.
    His son Jay Malik (Sudeep) who is very ambitious and a go-getter. For him his father's news channel is purely a business enterprise and its standing is judged from the profits it makes.
    Purab Shastri (Riteish Deshmukh) with a degree in journalism, is an idealist who believes the media should report news not create news. And also thinks media is to check the society, country. He dreams of a better India instead of bettering his personal interests like most other youngsters around him.
    Mohan Pandey (Paresh Rawal) is a politician of the opposition party and nurtures dreams of becoming the Prime Minister of the country. To fulfill his dream he can even kill..
