Ranvir Shorey, who was born on 13th January, 1967, is an actor who is known for his comic timing as well as a former VJ.
He made his debut in Hindi films, in the film Ek Chhoti Si Love Story (2002), which failed to make a mark at the box office. He then got a minor role in the film Jism (2003), which went on to become a hit. He was liked in the role he played in the Rahul Bose, Mallika Sherawat starrer, Pyaar Ke Side Effects. However, the film which really got him attention was the comedy Khosla Ka Ghosla. It was a small budget film, but it was widely appreciated and a commercial success. He also appeared in the multi-starrer Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007) which was moderately successful. He also appeared in Madhuri's comeback vehcle, Aaja Nachle which was released in November 2007. He then appeared in Rahul Rawail's "Buddha Mar Gaya," a black comedy that was a commercial and critical failure. Mithya, which was released in February 2008, has Ranvir Shorey as the lead actor and won him critical acclaim.
Recently Ranvir has been seen in movies like Ugly Aur Pagli, the great box office hit Singh Is Kinng and the recent Dasvidaniya.
Along with friend and co-star Vinay Pathak, he was the host of the successful talk show Ranvir Vinay Aur Kaun? and The Great Indian Comedy Show.
