Dilip went to London to study law leaving his wife Gouri in their Nishanpur estate. After being a barrister Dilip didn’t come back either to his village or to his wife. He started practicing in Calcutta. Long twelve yeas had passed in the meantime. Raghu, the oldest servant of that family, came Calcutta one day. He informed Gouri that Dilip was coming to the village for the case of Kusum. Raghu went back to Dilip from Nishanpur with the relevant papers regarding the Kusum's case. After going through the papers Dilip decided to stand for the case of Kusum as because she was his subject. After reaching Nishanpur Dilip decided to stay in the out house. Listening Dilip's decision to stay in out house Gouri sighed. Hearing news of Dilip's arrival, few volunteers came to take his subscriptions for the flood affected people of Nishanpur. Dilip surprisingly asked the casher why the subscription for the flood affected had not been given till then. The casher told that Gouri did not order to release that money. Actually the income from the estate were all spent primarily in building the temple, 'Raash' festival etc. Dilip became furious. He said to stop the “Raash” festival and to handover the money to the volunteers. Gouri also Heard the order of the jamindar to stop the “Raash”. Gouri said it was his money, he had every night to take decision how to spend that money, But the “Raash” cannot be stopped. So he handed over her ornaments to the priest as expenditure for the “Raash”. Dilip came to know about handing over of the ornaments. He asked Raghu to tell Gouri to leave the house immediately. For the first time Raghu disobeyed his master. He said it was impossible form him to tell that to Gouri. Gouri also heard about Dilip's order. But he decided not to leave. Dilip had won the Kusum's case. That news came in the temple area. Everybody assumed that then the jamindar would come there to loot the temple. The priest got the scope to instigate the people against Dilip and order to lock the door of the temple. Gouri heard a noise outside the temple - people were trying to hit someone.....and, the she heard the scream of Dilip. She rushed to the temple and found Dilip lying there injured. She ordered to break the temple door. Thus she got back her husband. The festival of “Raash Purnima” became complete with the union of Gouri and Dilip.
