Ready rating: 7 out of 10(Pritam Roy wrote on 03 Jun 2011)

Ready is a Salman Khan showcase. For those who expected anything else, please accept our sincere apologies. Riding high on success and unprecedented popularity wave, post Wanted and Dabangg, Salman is the guy with the Midas touch at the Box office and it may be declared, that the movie is a SUPERHIT even before it hit the silver screen this Friday.

The story is a mismash of old Bollywood films of 1980's and 1990's with a healthy dose of humor and spunk, Salman style. It's a full-on, non-stop entertainer, masala film and doesn't make any attempt to project otherwise. So, all lovers of meaningful, art house cinema or even a movie with a message, please stay out or keep quiet. Every time, Salman appears on the screen, and which by the way, is most of the film duration, he is screaming for attention and your seetis, taalis and whatever you have in appreciation of the dialogues or the action. By the way, our hero also has a soft heart made of gold, and in the scenes where he romances his girl, you will be entertained further.

Prem (Salman Khan) lives with his father Rajveer (Mahesh Manjrekar) and uncles Gautam & Rishi (Manoj Joshi & Manoj Pahwa). Prem's family owns a fragrance company. Sanjana (Asin), is an orphan, who comes to India to live with her greedy mamas Narendra and Tulsi (Sharat Saxena & Akhilendra Mishra), who just want to usurp her property. Prem, falls in love with Sanjana, and decides to teach her mamas a lesson. Both the mamas, who are also sworn enemies by the way, want Sanjana to get married to their respective brothers-in-law, to get a grip on Sanjana's wealth. However, Prem manages to fool them by posing as a rich family and getting friendly with them.

Of course, such an entertainer in Bollywood will not be complete without a chase, which is considered as a standard feature in Bollywood comedies and is guaranteed to make the audience jump on their seats with glee and laughter. Some of the scenes, gigs and jokes, you would have seen earlier, but you wouldn't mind. Music is good, with Character Dheela and Dhinka Chika already ruling the charts.

Asin is good and looks beautiful and plays second fiddle to Salman, as required. Paresh Rawal is in good form. Among others, Sudesh Lehri, Akhilendra Mishra, Mahesh Manjrekar, Anooradha Patel and Sharat Saxena also deliver credible performances in this mad caper. And don't worry, for all fans of Salman, he also doesn't forget to bare his chest and show his body.

SO, join the gang in the fun and revelry and leave your senses at home, please. Anees Bazmee can forget the debacle called Thank You for a while and bask in the glory of Salman's charisma who has singlehandedly made him 'Ready' for success.
