80’s was the time where films of Amitabh Bachchan and Jeetendra ruled the box office. The makers and the audience both were total confident of the star power and the films content. Songs, Fight, Drama, Comedy were equally blended and used for the film for one sheer reason – Entertainment. 90’s changed the content to family drama with romance and light moments after the release of Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. Then came the multiplex era where the entertainers took a backseat, but with last few years the entertainer films have relaunched them with more fun and entertaining elements. Salman Khan's name comes on the top of the list with his two huge hits and now comes back with ‘READY’. Let’s see how much the movie can entertain us or it shall just bake its bread on the past glory of Salman Khan’s Super hits.

“Ready” is story of Prem {Salman Khan} and his family {Mahesh Manjrekar, Anuradha Patel, Manoj Joshi, Manoj Pawa, etc} settled in Bangkok. They are searching for a perfect bride for Prem and on orders of their Guruji they finalized a girl named Pooja from USA. Enters Sanjana {Asin} who is running away from her gangster uncles, who want to get her married to their brother in law. Sanjana impost herself as Pooja and hide in Prem’s house. One thing led to another and Prem falls in love with Sanjana. But her uncle’s hunts her and take her back. Prem decides to get her back with help of a C.A Bali {Paresh Rawal}. What happens next is all the film about.

Story has shades from few Aneez Bazmee’s films like welcome, etc. In short we can say the movie is ‘Welcome’ meets ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’. Despite knowing the fate of the story, still the movie surprises you with help of good screenplay. First half is good, but it’s the second half which takes you in the rocket speed of entertainment. The movie has some enjoyable scenes like Asin – Salman meet, Salman and Manoj Joshi chat, Campfire with Salman-Asin, Sunil Lahiri lift scene, Chote Panditji at Salman’s house, Pee Break, Salman Paresh Chat, Salman at Don’s house, Salman fooling Paresh and Akhlendra Mishra, Mahesh Manjrekar meet with Aklendra Mishra followed by his three conditions, Salman’s condition to Sharat Saxena, Hospital scene, Family Dinner scene, Golf scene, Paresh telling the truth, Market fight, Climax scenes and fights including salman’s shirtless scene and more. On the flip side the movie takes you for granted in the first half with some unwanted scenes, followed by weak special effects in the scene where Asin is in jungle, etc. Dialogs and one liner by Salman and others are witty and cheering {I..Me..Myself , Koi to Roko and more}. Camera work is average and the locations are typical Aneez Bazmee style.

Music by Pritam is rocking and goes well with the mood of the film. Character Dheela is enjoyable with good spoof of Hindi films, Humko Pyar Hua a decent romantic duet followed by Dekho Meri Ada Bhi. But the movies Ace card is ‘Dhinka Chika’ which will make your foot tap along with it.

Aneez Bazmee had lost his touch over the direction with film like ‘No Problem’ and more. But out here he is back and that too with bang. He has blended the perfect amount of Humor, Romance, Drama, Action etc in this film. First half has some jitters but second half is total entertainer. No doubt that he has done a decent job, but he could still do much better with this entertaining script and a superstar Salman Khan.

The first and biggest reason to watch the film is Salman, Salman and Salman. He is rocking and after watching the film you will agree that its only him who could carry so well this role and the film. His style attitude is superb. Though if compared with last two hits of his, he is slight low in front of them. But then overall basis he knows the pulse of the audience and does justice to it. Asin is fine and looks good, but need to look bit different from her last films. Paresh Rawal is superb and so is Sunil Lahiri, They give great support to Salman when it comes to humor part. Akhlendra Mishra, His grandson, Sharat Saxena, Manoj Joshi and Mahesh Manjrekar too gives good support in the film. Anuradha Patel looked charming. Puneet Issar, Manoj Pawa, Arya Babber are wasted. The cameos by Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Kangana, Zarine Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Chunky Pandey etc was ok.

So bol meri ‘Filmi Khopdi’ is film mein kitna hai Dum ?

Dum ? Aree boss it’s a Salman Khan film and that too an out and out masala entertainer, Dum to hona hi hai. The movie is total masala entertainer with good dosage of music, humor and masti. In the movie whenever Salman Khan looks at Asin, ke keeps saying ‘Koi To Rok Lo’. I feel he has been giving challenge to his contenders that if you can, pls stop me by giving another Masala Entertainer Hit. I feel his contenders don’t know that Salman is like a fire rocket which just blast as you say Get..Set..Go. Enjoy the Summer entertainer.
