Road, Movie is about a journey to discovering oneself through the different twists and turns that destiny has it in store. Vishnu (Abhay Deol) hails from a middle class family and is the eldest son in his family. He works with his father for a family Hair Oil Company called ‘Atma Hair Oil’. Vishnu is not interested in being a salesman for ‘Hair Oil.’ He wants to explore what is possible and venture in a different direction altogether. As he takes a stroll one day he comes across an old man who has an old truck which is to be delivered to a museum in Samundrabad. Vishnu seizes this opportunity as his ticket to freedom as he volunteers to take the antique Chevy truck to its final destination. Little does Vishnu know that old ‘Khatara’ truck that he is going to be driving is actually an old touring cinema better known as ‘Chalta Phirta Cinema’ which was quite popular at one time.

As Vishnu begins his journey across the barren desert – he encounters three people a young runaway lad (Mohammad Faizal), an old mechanic (Satish Kaushik) and a beautiful gypsy (Taanishtta Chatterjee) whom he reluctantly picks up on his way for his own selfish reasons. From there begins a journey of 4 different people who come from different walks of life who are bound together by destiny and the thread of cinema as a common source of escaping their individual harsh realities. As they journey together for various purposes they spread the magic of cinema to cops, crooks and common folk alike.

After giving excellent performances in his previous films, Abhay Deol delivers yet again as the pompous, conceited and egotistical, Vishnu. The Deol with a difference is able to carry of the role of an ‘Angry Young Man’ with ease and flamboyance.

However Vishnu would not have a journey without the supporting cast of characters in the film. Mohammad Faizal as the young waiter with a sharp tongue leaves you in splits with his smart comments. Satish Kaushik as Om the aged mechanic and the man with all the answers reminds you of the powerful performer he is. Tannishtta Chatterjee as the beautiful gypsy perfectly complements Vishnu on screen. The chemistry between Abhay and Tannishtta is quite sizzling.

Road, Movie is cinema with a difference and cinema that makes a difference. Charting unchartered territory the film is entertaining and relevant at the very same time. Well worth the watch
