The movie lives up to its name, its spirit...ROCK ON!
Farhan is truly brilliant - a total rockstar - with his effortless portrayal of Aditya - The protagonist.
Arjun Rampal (yes, I am biased - he looks awesome) does what he does the best - play a 'supporting' character to the lead - and does it convincingly well - as always.
Purab (KD in the movie) is the guy you would love - 'killer drummer' - what a name :)
Luke Kenney also does justice to the role of Rob.
I expected more out of Prachi - from the K-series fame, but her presence / absence really didn't matter in the movie. Koel was pleasing to the eye - portraying the role of the 'independent single woman' of today to the 't' :)
About the movie - well what do I say - Both the stage performances of 'Magik' the band made me feel as if I was a part of the concert! (my friends constantly reminded me not to clap / laugh / sing along)...
The treatment resembled (or at least reminded you of) Dil Chahta Hai - but since it was so brilliant one didn't really mind it.
Loved the music and lyrics - hats off to the Trio if Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and to Javed Akhtar for pulling it off...marvellous - and was so convincing with Farhaan's voice!
Farhaan definitely deserves the 'best actor' / or the 'powerhouse' award (filmfare) this year (I love him!)
Also, the depiction of characters is very true to life - very relatable. The characterization is so credible that you believe the 20 somethings and 30 somethings portrayed by the same set of actors....you believe why they are what they are...their stances and choices in life....
Appreciate the detailing for the portrayal of the 4 actors as rockstars - really cannot replace them with anyone else in my head...
A must watch for those who are free-spirited...rock on guys!!!
