Rock on was a likeable film. I think the casting was fantastic. Each character was distinct. There were very few cinematographic liberties taken. Yes one could complain that the story was predictable, after all someone had to die in the end, in the best interest of emotion. But the film did capture the generic story of why bands break up well. The treatment of relationship was balanced, you clearly did could not take sides between Joe and Aditya. The music to me could have reached greater heights, though the realism of it did strike you. Prachi Desai needs to work on her dialogue delivery, but she has what it takes to occupy the girl next door image, so easily being vacated by Rani today. Arjun Rampal is going from strength to strength and this is his second successive successful portrayal of off beat roles, after OSM. In the end the fact that all of us would have identified at different times with each of the characters, and the sensitive treatment of graduation from teenhood to late twenties will be worth remembering
