Rockstar, albeit a popular star, porcelain beauty, lovely locale (the sure shot condiments for a successful brew), is not a movie that is likely to let the coffers overflow. It however, has the potential of graduating to a cult movie; snippets of Ranbir’s dialogue can well go down in history to be recalled by his grandchildren. The flaws, as the reviewer notes, is there; though personally the unsaid unclear situations (the family drama, particularly) was fine in my opinion. The director has probably used them as props to show the morphing, which is the crux of this movie. Even the love relation has been used like a prop, like propeller thrusts that launch the powerhouse of talent that is Jordan. The encounters with the police were getting tedious. One cannot go without mentioning Rehman’s genius. My personal favourite was Saadda Haq; the anguish, the passion, the true blue rock music.
