Rowdy (Akshay Kumar) is a guy who is crazy about daredevilry and is a small-time thief. He gets the shock of his life when a young girl claims him to be her father. Later he discovers that the girl is the daughter of an IPS Police officer Vikram Singh Rathore.
Vikram is the long-lost twin of Rowdy. The two meet with great excitement and also shock but Vikram Rathore is confronted by underworld-gangsters who then murder him right in front of Rowdy. Interestingly, Rowdy takes Vikram's position to find out who the murderers were, and why they killed him. Will he be able to find out the truth?
Well, that we will get to know only after the release of the film!
Trailer: The trailer of the film has a lot of action which clearly justifies the genre of the movie. Sonakshi appears be the eye candy in this action packed movie. The trailer, at large, mostly introduces Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi. The rewinding aspect of the trailer is really cool! In short, good work on trailer!
'Chinta ta ta chita chita....' The song is hilarious and extremely likeable, probably because of its lyrics and the beats. Mika Singh's voice perfectly suits the song. Appearance of Prabhu Deva adds another plus point to the song. The signature step that involves the hand movement with the line ‘Chinta ta ta chita chita...' will definitely become popular among kids. Although the song is not fully original, as the parts of the song has been lifted from its Telugu version, it has its own moments as well.
'Chammak Challo Chel Chabeli...'This song picturized on Sonakshi, gives us another Chammak Challo. So, who do you think is better – Kareena or Sonakshi? Well, the two songs are totally different. Kareena's Chammak Challo catered to the present generation, while Sonakshi's reminds you of the 1990's. Her mischievousness in the song makes it all the more interesting. The combination of singers like Kumar Sanu and Shreya Ghoshal works really well here. It gradually wins your heart. It may stay around for sometime.
'Aa Re Pritam Pyare...' Well, naughty is the word for this song! The lyrics may remind you of Madhuri Dixit's famous song Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai… the beats are undoubtedly energetic and the three girls dance really well. The use of slow motion steps (in between the song) in a fast paced music is really commendable. If we ignore the lyrics, the song is a fire! Mamta Sharma sings it really well.
'Tera Ishq Bada Teekha...'sung by Javed Ali and Shreya Ghoshal, this is yet another romantic number in the film after Chammak Challo. The background score is little dominating, but overall the song works well on your ears.
'Dhadang dhang dhang…'has a fun element to it. Sonakshi and Akshay seem to be enjoying dancing on the beats of the song. Song is not that great, but it’s
subjective and people may like it.
'Chandaniya Lori Lori....'is a pure delight to listen. Sung by Shreya Ghoshal, the song moves at a slow pace. It’s a unique kind of Lori sung by a mother to make her daughter fall asleep. If you venture deep into the song, you will find the lyrics touching enough to rewind it once more.
Rowdy Rathore remix is very funky in nature. The song will go down well with present generation. The dialogues of Akshay mixed with the lyrics are worth listening to.
Music album of 'Rowdy Rathore' is entertaining. All the songs of the film have a brand value and will top the charts. Music directors Sajid- Wajid have done a great job. Kudos to them! As far as movie is concerned, if you liked 'Dabangg' and 'Wanted', then you will definitely like 'Rowdy Rathore', it seems to be on the same lines.
A take on box office future: As per the present trend, masala films are doing great at the box office. Masala mixed with action, too, has a great future. Rowdy Rathore has action, masala and good music. Moreover, it marks the return of Khiladi Kumar in action mode which may again prove to be a plus point for the film. Today, audience go to theaters to watch fun filled movies, which are high on entertainment (even if the story is just okay). If 'Rowdy Rathore' is entertaining (after all, it stars Akshay), it will definitely work at the box office.
So, here we have yet another film which proves that Bollywood to a very large extent depends on the southern films. Hindi remakes of southern films have become a common scenario today. Who knows, success of Rowdy Rathore may add some more hype to the trend.
In short, 'Rowdy Rathore' seems promising as far as actors are concerned; the story of the film is not that great and caters to the typical Bollywood style. Songs are good and so are the action scenes. Hope the movie makes its mark! ?
