No, this one is not the remake of Ajay Kar directed Soumitra-Suchitra starred nostalgic "Saat Pake Bandha". Actually latest released Sujit Mondal directed Saat Pake Bandha is ditto copy of a Hindi film "Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain". In place of Kajol and Anil Kapoor, here Koel and Jeet, a perfect match suffering from bad Screenplays.
The story line is based on "chalu" structure of the family entertainment. Rahul (Jeet), a son of a business magnet returns from U.K and pressurized to marry a pretty girl (Koel) who belongs to a middle class Bengali family. But N.R.I Rahul want to marry a high profile baby, not a traditional girl. At first Rahul refused Koel, but at last, he agrees to marry Koel with implied condition that the girl will sign 1yr contract a compatibility to give the marriage a trial run. If he likes Koel after the contract period, he would extend the contract for lifetime. And you, Bengali commercial cinema-buff, of course, guess the happy ending. Nothing more.
The film has been shot in Malaysia and Kolkata. This time, Malaysia location too has a pre-assigned notion of rhythm attached to it. But where does this get connected with main story line? Jeet and Koel, in many scenes, would differ in formula acting which in fact is only interesting factor of film. They both look charming. Locket Chatterjee as elder sister of Koel, acted as a decoration of the film, Ranjit Mallick as it is. Jeet Ganguli's music is "chalta hai.."
