Sabyasachi Chakraborty is one of the most talented actors of Bengal whose acting prowess is well known all over India.
Sabyasachi was born on 8th September, 1956 and his parents Jagadish Chandra Chakraborty and Monica Chakraborty used to call him by the name Benu. In 1975, he passed Higher Secondary Examination from Delhi’s Andrews College. He also completed his B.Sc from the famous Hansraj College of Delhi. After this , he cleared AMI examination from Delhi in 1978. Apart from acting , his love for nature and forests are well known. He is a very passionate about wild life photography. In 1986 , he got married and has two sons.
He made his debut in Tapan Sinha’a film “ Antardhan” in 1992. After this, he has worked in several famous television serials, most notable is ‘Taro parbon’ which made him immensely popular, in his initial days. These serials have made him a household name. He has directed many serials and shows for childrens in television. His role as Feluda in Jotokando Kathmandutei , Bombaiyer Bombete and Kailashe Kelenkari have reinstated the nostalgia surrounding Satyajit Ray’s Feluda series. His roles in Antardhan, Sweth pathorer thala, Mahulbanir sereng, Parineeta (Hindi) earned him wide recognition.He got involved with Charbak theatre group in 1983. He has worked in some other Hindi movies and serials. In 2005 and 2006 Sabyasachi was awarded Best actor for his role in Bombaiyer Bombetey and Mahulbanir sereng subsequently ,by BFJA. Other than 2nd International Indo-Bangladesh Kala Music Award (IIBKMA),Sabyasachi Chakraborty got of plenty of recognition from various institutions.
