    Sameera Reddy was born on 14th December 1978 in Andhra Pradesh. She is a Telugu speaking Bollywood actress and the youngest of the three Reddy sisters, the other two being Meghna and Sushma. Her forefathers are from Rajahmundry . She is a close relative of Business tycoon Vijay Mallya. She graduated from Sydenham College. She is most famous for her role in Musafir. One of her elder sisters, Sushma Reddy made her acting debut with the film Chocolate. Her other sister Meghna Reddy was a popular VJ on the Channel V. Sameera’s is a trained Kathak dancer. She loves swimming, dancing and playing video games. And she cannot do without working out in the gym. Yoga is another one of her favorite activity. She absolutely hates fatty and fried foods.

    She was first noticed in a music video, Aahista by Pankaj Udhas. She modelled for a while before deciding to act in films. She made her film debut opposite Sohail Khan in Maine Dil Tujhko Diya. Her role was of a shy college girl who falls in love with one of her fellow students. The film was not a success, but she did get other film offers by the time her debut film released. She tried her luck in tollywood in a few films ( "Narasimhudu" starring Jr. NTR and "Jai Chiranjeeva" starring Megastar Chiranjeevi) but both tumbled at the box office. After two more failures at the box office, she had her first success with Musafir. The film eventually flopped but her role in it transformed her from shy college girl to a sex symbol. The film was quite controversial as it included a kissing scene between her and her co-star Anil Kapoor. The film that resurrected her career was Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Darna Mana Hai’. Sameera’s sizzling dance in its title song was widely appreciated. But the film that brought a drastic change in her image was ‘Musafir’ directed by Sanjay Gupta. ‘Musafir’ is still considered to be the hottest film in Bollywood. After that she got many offers but decided to go in a slow pace, concentrating on quality work. Sameera also did couple of films down south, one of them with Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi. Both were huge hits. She also did a Bengali film ‘Kalpurush’ with renowned director Buddhadev Dasgupta. ‘Kalpurush’ is perhaps her best work so far and her performance bowled over even her worst critics. She also did few Hindi films like ‘Taxi Number 9211’, ‘No Entry’ and latest ‘Naksha’.

    Sameera was just 17 when she did Pankaj Udhas’s music video ‘Aahista’ and she is the youngest of the three sisters. Meghna and Sushma Reddy, her elder sisters are both popular models and VJ's. She is called the India’s Jennifer Lopez by director Sanjay Gupta. She made a guest appearance on the British show 'Casualty'. For those who don’t know she is a avid video gamer and loves any sort of games People feel her lips resemble Angelina Jolie's. Sameera has been working for a year on Sam's Mission, a video game being made for mobile phones that includes special effects, fights and more. First Indian actress to feature in a video game.‘Sam’s Mission’ is a mobile game. Her last release Race did well in the Box-Office. This year releases for sameera reddy would be Ami, Yasin Ar Amar Madhubala (a.k.a. the voyeurs) and one two three in Hindi. She has also worked on a Tamil film named Vaaranam Aayiram which is expected to release this year. She has modeled for the international brand ‘Lissome’.
