Sanghita Banerjee started her film career as a child artist with the films named
“AVEE” “MAAN AVIMAAN” “CHAMELI MEMSAHEB” etc. and latter in the films “RAJESWARI” “KRODHI” “AGNI BALAKA” & many others as lead artist.
She was a superb Recitation artist on stage and good painter and done some Modeling jobs for some renowned Companies.
She has made a number of Documentary, Short and Commercial films.Some of her directorial films are
“THE CURSE” (1995) DURATION – 17 min. SUBJECT - The film reveal a shocking experience of “WITCH” hunting, as practiced in different part of Eastern India. The tragic fate of these Tribe Women is a blemish in our society.
The film “THE CURSE” has acclaimed appreciations in many National & International Film Festivals.
“BIRBAHA” (1999) DURATION – 50 min. SUBJECT - The film portray struggle for survive of Tribal people of India against poverty, danger, un-employment, superstitions. “BIRBAHA” also participated in different Film Festivals and acclaimed appreciations in many.
“CHANDANNAGORE, THE GLORIOUS CITY” (2001) DURATION – 60 min. SUBJECT – The glorious History of the city, Chandannagore which was once under the colonial of The France Government when the rest of India was under The British.
She has made some documentaries for Government of West Bengal and for other private Producers.
Made various corporate & advertisement films for the Companies of Ship Building, Textiles, Steel, Medicine, etc.
Made three feature films on children’s subject.
“BYANG RAJA” (37 min.) “MADHAB MAJHIR KALO CHASHMA” (43 min.)
The films ware commercially successful.
“SADHU BABAR LATHI” (134 min.) Released on 21st November, 2008 at Nandan & many other houses & got very good response both from the
Viewers and Critics.
