Sanjay Gadhvi was born on 22 November 1965.
His wife name is Giya Gadhavi.
He started his career as an Assistant Director in “Patthar Ke Phool” (1991) directed by Anant Balani and starred by Salman Khan & Raveena Tandon which was fortunately the debut film of Raveena and had also hit the box-office.
He made his directorial debut with Tere Liye (2000) which went un-noticed.
Then he written and directed a film with the Yash Raj Banner “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai” (2002). The film enjoyed moderate success.
Then after a span of two years he first gained fame when he directed the action thriller Dhoom (2004). The film was a huge hit and attained a grand success which practically revived the careers of the actors and actresses starring in the film.
He then directed the sequel to Dhoom, which is called Dhoom 2 in 2006. The film starred three of the main actors from the previous film: Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Rimi Sen. Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu were also in the film. The film was famous for its stunts and action which came out as the highest grosser of 2006. He was also nominated for the Best Director in the Filmfare Awards 2007 for his film “Dhoom 2”.
His latest flick “Kidnap”, which was released on 2nd of October 2008 unfortunately didn’t appeal that much to the audiences. The film was a remake of “Barood” (1976) a Rishi Kapoor, Reena Roy & Shoma Anand starrer directed by Mr. Pramod Chakravorty.
