Sanjay Suri was born in Srinagar, on 6th April, 1971. He has an older brother called Raj and a sister called Vandana. Sanjay is an excellent squash player, and has represented his school and his state in the game. Sanjay is married to Ambika, and they have a little boy.
Sanjay started his modelling career, after moving to New Delhi in 1990. His modelling repertoire included brands such as Gillette, Nilkamal Furniture, Times of India, and Philishave. The next move was to films.
His debut Hindi film was Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, co-starring Rinke Khanna and Dino Morea. Although the movie was not a commercial success, Sanjay's performance got noticed. He got good reviews for his next films, Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence (2001), Filhaal, Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, and Pinjar, but it was with Jhankaar Beats, that he gained popularity. He received much acclaim for the film My Brother… Nikhil in 2005, as a homosexual AIDS victim. The movie found high praise among Indian film critics.
Sanjay is acting and co producing a film by Onir titled Sorry Bhai, due for release in end November 2008.
