there was no mention of a race in June 1938 Massachusetts Handicap where Seabiscuit and War Admiral were supposed to compete. Seabiscuit was scratched prior to race due to fevered legs. War Admiral, for the first time was out of money, finishing 4th.

The movie also never mentioned why Riddle (War Admiral's owner) was against using the start gate for the one to one race between War Admiral & Sea Biscuit. The reason was that War Admiral loathed starting gates

About 40 horses were featured in the movie out of which 10 horses shared the role of Seabiscuit. The race between Seabiscuit & War Admiral was filmed in a racetrack in Lexington. the track had to undergo some cosmetic changes to reflect the original time period of the race.

In reality War Admiral was as taller as Sea Biscuit which was about 15 hands, not as mentioned in the movie - a giant horse which was 18 hands taller!!

The Santa Anita racetrack, where several scenes were filmed, has a statue of Seabiscuit. just some distance away, there's another statue - erected as a tribute to George Woolf - a legendary Jockey.

Gary Stevens who played George Woolf in the movie, is a successful professional jockey who won Kentucky derby and other memorable races. Ironically, Gary Stevens had earlier won the George Woolf memorial Jockey award in 1996
