    This is the story of two lovers Ashish Khanna (Akshaye Khanna) & Rani Bhalla (Ayesha Takia). Ashish & Rani meet at a cold drink stall and fall in love. Ashish is unemployed while Rani belongs to a rich family. Rani introduces Ashish to her family for marriage. But the family puts a condition for Ashish that he should start earning and buy a flat by saving enough money, before tying a knot. Ashish manages to get a small job at the office of "Lijjat Pappad" & also starts selling music systems out of the back of a van. He gets noticed by the owner of a limited firm who hires him. Hearing the good news, Bhalla's give permission to Ashish and Rani's marriage. But after the engagement Ashish finds out that he is suffering from cancer. Ashish does not want to ruin Rani's life. So he tries every possible trick to break the relation. Ashish starts flirting around with Sania (Mallika Sherawat), to make Rani jealous. Rani breaks the engagement. Sania falls in love with Ashish & proposes to him. But Ashish does not want to marry her as he considers her a flirt. Sania turns out to be the younger sister of Anna, who is a don. Anna approves of Ashish. But Ashish confesses that he has a cancer. Anna gets Ashish rechecked by Dr.Rustom & discovers that Ashish is fit & fine. Ashish realises his mistake and wants to get back to Rani, but he is trapped in a very difficult situation because of Sania and her brother Anna.
