    SJ were oroginally signed for the "Bobby" and "Seeta Aur Geeta" following the musical success of "Mera Naam Joker" and "Andaz". But due to Jaikishan's demise, the projects moved to Laxmikant Pyarelal and R D Burman respectively.

    The first Shankar Jaikishan movie without a Lata Mangeshkar song was "Boot Polish." It was also their only movie of with Raj Kapoor without a Mukesh song.

    Amitabh never had the opportunity to work with Shankar Jaikishan. But Shankar's favorite dummy words "Tandana Tandana" (from "Mayurpankh" and "Gumnaam" became the mukhda of his song from "Desh Premee" where he mimicked Mehmood.

    Jaya Bhaduri never had the opportunity to work with Shankar Jaikishan. However, she acted on the "Asli Naqli" song "Tujhe Jeevan Ki Dor Se" in a dream sequence in "Guddi" with Dharmendra.

    Shankar gave music to a few films under the pseudo name "Suraj", including "Street Singer" and Marathi film "Tee Mee Navhech". Though Shankar mostly composed for lyricist Shailendra, it was Hasrat Jaipuri who wrote lyrics for actor Chandrashekher's production "Street Singer" composed by Shankar as "Suraj".

    Shankar Jaikishan pioneered the jazz music in hindi film songs. They also made popular film stars do cameos voice overs in their hit songs, examples being Sharmila Tagore in "Aasman Se Aaya Farishta" and Vyjayantimala in "Bol Radha Bol Sangam Hoga Ki Nahin".
