This year we had seen good number of Big Budget & Technically Brilliant Movie's in Marathi, Sharyat is the latest offering. I would rate Sharyat as the best movie till date in Marathi as far as Cinematography & Editing are concerned because you are glued to the screen throughout the Movie enjoying the picturesque frames. The direction by Viju Mane is outstanding. Viju gives new dimensions to amazing song picturization in a Marathi Movie.
The movie is about the Traditional Bullock Cart Race which will give the honor of offering first Puja to the Mahadev Temple in the village whoever wins it. The competition is between Prataprao & Shankarrao, while Shankarrao uses Sachin (Dhananjay Jadhav) to ride his bullock cart, Prataprao (Vidhyadhar Joshi) himself ride his cart. 5 years back Vidyadhar had cunningly won the bullock cart race by using the foul method to injure Sachin’s bulls due to which an accident takes place killing many people & injuring & disabling the bulls permanently. After that Sachin leaves the village & settles in the city with his brother Santosh Juvekar & decides never to participate in the race. So 5 years continuously Vidyadhar wins. But the time comes when due to a road being constructed in the village makes it as the last year to organize the Sharyat & it is decided whoever wins this Last Sharyat will be bestowed upon the honor to offer first worship to Mahadev Temple permanently. This makes paralyzed Shankarrao & his wife Nina Kulkarni restless & they call Sachin for the Final Sharyat, but Sachin Refuses. Circumstances change & Sachin has to accept the participation in the Sharyat due to some unavoidable reasons.
Now the competition begins between Vidyadhar & Sachin with some cleverly written scenes. The Sharyat in the climax is a treat to watch. Don’t Miss This SHARYAT.
Camerawork by Shabbir Naik is a clear winner for this movie, the colors used are awesome. In fact the background of the story is based in rural Maharashtra but the city crowd will enjoy the movie for its technically brilliant photography , sleek editing by Satish Patil & melodious music by young Chinar – Mahesh. The songs are already a hit with item number “Sheelachyaa aaichaa gho” starring appealing Neha Pendse & laavni “Raanaamandi Ektaach dultoyaa Naag” starring gorgeous Bhargavi Chirmule, both sung by Urmila Dhangar & “Malaa Saang Naa” the Romantic song sung by Mahalakshmi Iyer & Swapnil Bandodkar featuring Santosh Juvekar & Tejashri Pradhan are amazingly picturised. The choreography By Rajesh Bidve & Deepali Vichare is Superb. Neha Pendse’s performance in the item song and Bhargavi Chirmule’s attractive appearance in the Lawani song is potentially full of entertainment for the audiences indeed.
Sachin looks Macho in the rough & tough role for the first time in his career of 50 years, Santosh Juvekar efficiently takes care of the comic relief required in such a serious Movie. Nina Kulkarni is effective in her scenes & portrays well the change in the character in climax. Vidyadhar Joshi is always entertaining as a villain. He is well experienced now in playing such characters & does full justice to his role. Special mention for the superb sound designing by Abhijeet Kende & action by Prashant Naik.
And finally congratulations to the Ashwamedh Productions, Darshana & Nilesh Sawant for their remarkable debut in the Marathi Movie Industry with such an excellently executed & presented Movie.
Friends, Do watch this Breath Taking Sharyat.
