Shootout At Wadala is a Knock Out action thriller!

Shootout At Wadala rating: 7 out of 10

Based on the infamous 1992 gang encounters in Bombay, The film dramatizes the events leading up to Mumbai police's first-ever registered encounter where gangster Manya Surve was shot dead. Let me also clarify, Shootout At Wadala is no ways any sequel to Shootout At Lokhandwala (2007) which was produced by Sanjay Gupta and Ekta Kapoor. This one is a fresh film with a fresh plot. The only common relative factor here is the notorious gangster Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar (Name changed to 'Dilawar Imtiyaz Haskar').

Manya Surve (John Abraham) is about to face life imprisonment ... » read more

    Action , Action and Glamour

Shootout At Wadala rating: 5 out of 10

    Hello friends..

Shootout at wadala from Sanjay Gupta is another movie where you can watch a great action scene and very good combination of music and glamour. Like his other movies.

This movie is full of action. Manya as John is very good. He is suited in Don role. His personality and acting both are perfect for the role.

Anil Kapoor is best in the movie. Dashing looks make him more young.

Overall movie is good . » read more

    Without 'abuses' could be better!

Shootout At Wadala rating: 4 out of 10

    By Aditya Prasad(13 May 2013)

To start with the name of the movie, its misleading. The shootout at a college in Wadala is just a 15 minute sequence (climax). Entire movie revolves around one person - Manya Surve. His story of how he got sucked into underworld (or he decided to, because of one incident), how he managed to evade police and make an underworld gang out of all the convicts who ran out of a prison along with him. This is based on true stories in the 70's. Most of ... » read more

    Powerful, fabulous

Shootout At Wadala rating: 0 out of 10

    By Naina Chatterjee(23 Apr 2013)

Shootout At Wadala, to begin with, is more powerful, solid and action-filled than its precursor.
John Abraham is the soul of the mvi, and acts better than ever before.
Even the other actors are fantastic.
Sanjay Gupta has done a fabulous job as a director.
On the flipside, the item songs disturb the flow of the film, and could have been done away with. However, yes, it does provide a breather to someone who is saturated with the constant grimness in the movie. » read more

Film: Shootout At Wadala; Starring: Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Tusshar Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Sonu Sood, Manoj Bajpai, Ronit Roy; Directed by Sanjay Gupta; Rating: ***

Babli Badmash Hai, sings Priyanka Chopra in one of the 3 utterly wasted item numbers in this film about blazing guns, flaring nostrils, sanguinary revenge and bleak atonement.

Babli is not the only one who's a badmaash here. The characters are all hardened players of the underworld from the 1970s. They all mean business in the business of being mean.

They sport the right clothes dialogues and attitude.

Yes, the detailing is deft. Wordsmith Milap Zaveri, who is the real hero of this film about fascist solutions to the conundrum of urban chaos, pulls out all stops to spread out an orgy of rhetorics and rhetorics» Read full review
