Vidya Balan was initially considered for the role played by Kangana Ranaut in the movie, as the filmmakers considered it to be meaty role, requiring a powerhouse performer.
Anil Kapoor's character is based on a cop named Isaque Bhagwan. But, the cop withdrew his N.O.C. after realizing the story has been changed and Anil's name is now Afaq instead of Isaque.
