Poor clack Haripada suddenly had to marry pretty Padmabati. She was sister-in-law of Pashupati, the office owner of Haripada. Pashupati himself did the match-making business in that marriage. Pashupati had no want in his life. But he was attracted towards the beauty of Padmabati and he gradually became a beast. In the absence of Haripada, he started visiting Padmabati. Though Padmabati didn't allow Pashupati to do any harm, Haripada started feeling helpless. One day it was found that Haripada had started a grocery shop after resigning from his job by the inspiration of his wife Padmabati. As Haripada worked hard, the shop became bigger within a very short time. He had also insured the life of Padmabati for ten thousand rupees. One day Haripada came back to his shop after being away for a while, he found that there was no money in the iron chest and came to know that Padmabati had gone to buy ornaments by that money with Pashupati. Though Haripada was not bothered by Padmabati's association with Pashupati, he thought Padmabati won't be able to be happy with him any day. So he wrote a letter addressing Padmabati and kept the letter inside of the chest .then he left. As there was no trace of Haripada, Pashupati with the help of a worker of the shop, Rakshit, announced that Haripada died in a train accident. Even he arranged the insured money from insurance company for Padmabati. In the meantime there appeared a heavily bearded ascetic. Pashupati requested him to pretend as an expert palmist. The ascetic agreed. Pashupati then requested him to tell Padmabati after seeing her palm that her husband was no more. If the ascetic could do that he would be rewarded. The ascetic agreed. Pashupati then took the ascetic Haripada's house, but Pashupati didn't know that the bearded ascetic was actually Haripada in disguise. So it didn't take much time to prove Pashupati's crime.
