‘Sudhu Tomaake Chaai’ is one muddled up film. It features a group of small time actors and actresses in the lead roles who are otherwise good actors , but the film just doesn’t allow them to do anything. Rather the film becomes a torture to watch.

The film is all bout the members of a Bangla band. Tito is the lead singer of the band which is played by Saheb Chatterjee and it seems as if nearly every girl in the film barring Soumili(and there are quite a few starting from Mumtaz Sorcar, Arpita Mukherjee, newcomer Tilottoma Dutta and Soumili Biswas ) is in love with him. He is a confused soul and doesn’t really profess his love for any of them. A few of them like Puja start liking someone else when Tito doesnt acknowledge her love. In fact she falls in love with one of her listeners(she is a RJ)who becomes a successful business man overnight after listening to her advice over the show! The girls become jealous and start hating each other because of Tito. Tito continues to search for his ‘Maya’ or true love’. There is lack of continuity in the scenes, there is lack of continuity in the period of the film as Saheb’s hair tend to vary from one scene to another. Why, the film even has a narrator in the form of Sabyasachi who plays a father! No one including Bhaswar Chatterjee and Subhrajit Dutta do anything worthwhile in the film.

The film is a complete meaningless film. No one knows why anything is happening and exactly what is happening! To make things worse, the preview copy of the film was screened at a theatre at the press show of the film and the screen was sometimes so hazy and white that the viewing the film seemed to be a torture.

God only knows ‘ke kake chaai’ !
