Shyam (Sachin) is the only son of his parents and a painter by profession. He is approached by a landlord to make paintings of Lord Krishna. Shyam starts his work and does a painting of Krishna. He meets a village girl named Radha (Sarika), who is very attractive. Shyam gets so impressed by her charms that he paints her as Lord Krishna's Radha. Shyam & Radha ultimately fall in love with each other. One day there is a fire in Radha's farm and she comes to take him to help her. He scolds her for not having called out to him, but gets the shock of his life when he learns that she is mute. Radha's stepmother blames Radha things that go wrong and considers her unlucky. Disheartened and depressed, Radha goes to commit suicide but Shyam saves her life. He accepts Radha the way she is. Radha's father tells Shyam that Radha is not mute from birth but she lost her voice when she witnessed her mother's accidental death. Shyam decides to help Radha. He takes her to the place where her mother had died years ago. He tries a trick on her and she finally regains her voice. Radha and Shyam both are very happy together now. But this happiness is short lived, as the landlord's only son, Narendra, is also interested in Radha. Narendra's father brings the marriage proposal & takes a promise from Radha's father that he will allow this marriage. Poor Radha's father is unable to reject the proposal. Shyam, who is completely heart broken tries to commit suicide. He gets injured in an accident and his legs are paralysed. Radha confesses her feelings for Shyam to Narendra and they both go to see Shyam. Shyam has completely lost his hopes that he ever walk again. He forces Radha to get married to Narendra, as he is incapable of doing anything. Radha sticks to her decision and decides to help Shyam out of this situation. She takes care of him, and develops a hope in him. She takes him to Lord Krishna's Temple and finally he manages to stand on his feet. Radha & Shyam then get married and live happily ever after.
