Is this actually Written and Directed by Piyush Jha?

The guy who directed the films like Chalo America (1999) and King of Bollywood (2004), both the genre of Comedy and both the gap of 5 yrs each. His recent Sikandar (2009), same the gap of almost 5yrs, but the genre, totally different from what he did until now.

We have seen many directors who always stick to their particular type of Genre, and also they do give out the good films for us. Likewise, David Dhawan is famous for Comedy; J.P.Dutta is famous for Patriotic; Yashraj is famous for Love stories; ... » read more

If you guys loved Parzan Dastur in Parzania and Ayesha Kapoor in Black, you'll love them yet again in Sikandar.

Sikandar is not a bad movie but it takes time for you to realize that its a good movie. You don't really feel for the characters like you felt for Ishaan Awasthi in Taare Zameen Par or Michelle McNally in Black. By the time you get into the rhythm and start liking that characters, the curtains are down. The main let down factor of this movie is its promise that it created with its trailers.

Parzan Dastur is impressive and manages to deliver ... » read more

Sikandar is a truly a very good experience.

The movie is about a young boy who finds a gun and who is tempted by the power the gun has to offer - to deal with his bullies, to solve some other problems, etc., and just for that, he is a prime recruit for a Jehadi terrorist group.

What impacted me the most though was the fact that somehow the story is not just about Kashmir. I remember reading about some of the Middle Eastern countries, and how its so easy to tempt a child into violence, as they have grown up in lives filled with violence, and so becoming ... » read more

    Kiska Sikandar ??

Majid Majidi is one of the world’s finest director and has an art of making films with children’s, which are not kid’s movies but movies with total hard hitting issues. Recently in our Hindi cinema directors have decided to adapt the Iranian director’s style and tried to blend it with our Indian surroundings. We had few good results like Taare Zameen par, Tahaan, etc and few bad ones. Director Piyush Jha tries to join the list of those inspired director with a subject based on backdrop of Kashmir. With such a burning issue let’s find out how till ... » read more

Shelved for a long time, Piyush Jha's Sikandar finally saw light of the day. After listening to mindblowing soundtrack, I was expecting some brilliant things on screen, but in totality I am bit disappointed.

Sikandar - played by Parzaan Dastur-is a school going kid who loves playing football, and dreaming of being a famous player. And fulfill wishes of his uncle and aunty. As his parents died in terrorist act, Sikandar lives with his uncle. One day he get along with Nasreen [Aayesh Kapoor] and later both becomes good friends. Things are fine in his life untill ... » read more
