Lakhan Singh or Lucky (Sonu Sood) is the King of the underworld in Australia. His loyalists include Pappi (Javed Jaffrey), Julie (Neha Dhupia), Dilbag Singh (Manoj Pahwa), Pankaj Udaas (Yashpal Sharma), Guruji Gurbaksh Singh (Kamal Chopra) and Raftaar (Sudhanshu Pandey).

Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar) is sent from his village in Punjab to bring Lucky back from Australia. He is unwillingly accompanied by his friend, Tony Singh (Om Puri) and on his journey; Happy meets Sonia (Katrina) and selflessly falls in love with her.
After a series of misadventures, Happy reaches Australia and how the gang of crooks is transformed by this man with a golden heart forms the rest of story.

Singh Is Kinng reunites Akshay with Vipul Shah after their back to back hits Waqt and Namastey London. However, the director's hat is worn by Anees Bazmee, who delivered 2007's biggest hit, Welcome, also with Akshay and Katrina in the lead.
