With the rise of Video era in 80’s the elite class preferred to stay home and cinema halls were source of entertainment for mostly the masses. 90’s bought back the Romantic era which were loved by both the sections of movie viewers. With the rise of multiplex and new style of cinema the masses were left on the mercy of Mithun films initially followed by Bhojpuri films which was overtaken by South Indian Dubs. The best part of these films were they were made for one pure reason – Entertainment. The industry overlooked them as the revenue earned by these films was with very ... » read more

Action Packed Movies along with Heroism is back fully. WANTED started it, DABANGG continued it, BBUDDHA HOGA TERA BAAP nourished it and finally SINGHAM signifies it. Singham draws a portrait of a policeman that the citizens think should be and overall wanted to be. 'Maardhaar-masala' type movies like 70s to 80s were a rage at the time that was abolished at a stake by sissy romance movies. But somewhere one does feel that movies like SINGHAM are very outdated in today's generation. But if you want to make your "ACTION da keeda"s rise & shine in your nerves, SINGHAM's a ... » read more

Singham: Masala Pot boiler with a Southern Tadka

Singham rating: 6 out of 10

    By Shiraj Dakshy(23 Jul 2011)

“Singham” is a remake of a Tamil movie of the same name starring Surya, hence you expect a complete masala potboiler, and the good news is it does not disappoint you in being a complete masala fair with hard core action, melodrama, confrontation scenes and heavy dialogues. DO NOT EXPECT A CLASSIC and you won’t be disappointed. The story is the same old, honest cop and his rampage against the villains who are the local goons and his victory at the end. Rohit Shetty does a fair job of packaging an old wine in a new bottle. The story revolves around Bajirao Singham (Ajay ... » read more

a good movie directed by Rohit Shetty, Ajay devgan pakka looka an maharashtrian (thanks to wife kajol). Story wise it is as usual a honest cop v/s villian., and nothing more to write about.

The action scenes are good. the dierction is good. I also saw tamil version of singam in which surya (ghajini and jyotika husband) fame did a fantastic job., here ajay devgan also farily did a good job but my money and dil went for PRAKASH RAJ, what a villian started his carrer from Mani ratnam's Bombay and today he is favourite villian of hindi film as on today.

    Sing-HAM

Singham rating: 3 out of 10

    By Plaban (24 Jul 2011)

80s and 90s saw formula driven movies in Bollywood. These movies saw hordes of Police stories where the good cop was up against a corrupt system and single handedly cleared all the wastes. That was the time when I was born. A little over 2 and half decades hence, I come across another one, Dabanng (it was all S's Salman and style and a super hit) and then another S, SIngham hit the theatre. An old saying: Not all that glitter is gold. A new one says: Not all heroes playing cop in moustache is a Chulbul Pandey. Singham is no Chulbul. I think thats enuf to you off this movie, ... » read more

    Must watch movie

Singham rating: 8 out of 10

    By Suchita Mukherjee(11 Sep 2011)

This movie has two amazing actors. Ajay Devgan as Bajirao Singham is very convincing. But Prakash Raj as the don Jaykant Shikre is a complete scene stealer! What a wonderful actor! You end up hating him so much during the course of the movie that it is a cathartic relief to see him being shot in the climax sequence. This is one movie which keeps you at the edge of your seat as it tells you a gripping story of how Shikre plots to destroy Singham and how Singham uses his brawn and brain to ultimately kill Shikre. I highly recommend watching this movie. » read more
