    “This Penance Is Not Imaginary”
Amidst breakdown of national health standards, corruption within every tire of rural bourgeoisie bureaucrats and deprivation of billions of rural population in areas like Lalgarh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, comes in the much awaited surreal saga of Rituparno Ghosh. As the title informs that “all characters are imaginary”, so remains the narration of this film. But some fundamental facets are essentially required to be discoursed.
After this venture, it would not perhaps be an exaggeration if Rituparno Ghosh is tagged as the filmmaker ... » read more

    A boring movie overall.

I do not understand why the director keep on using other voice than the actor in all of his movies. Does not that strike him when this actor wins a national prize and nothing for the 'Original voice' ? I heard Bipasha on TV speaking bangla very well. And in this movie we did not see Bipasha speaking two lines of bengali at a time, so she actually was not needed to speak bengali.

The movie without an aim and without an ending. I would be frustrated if this wins a National Prize ! And I hope Director reads my review. » read more

Rituparno Ghosh has tried “something different” in his latest release Sob Choritro Kalponik.

    Difference #1:
Bipasha Basu is the female lead for the first time in Bengali film, but without her voice. Her character name of Radhika.

    Difference # 2:
Prosenjit with all his “mannerism” has portrayed the character of a awards winning Bengali poet, a mixture of Shakti Chattopadhyay + Joy Goswami + Tushar Roy + Binay Majumdar. His character name is Indranil.

    Difference # 3:
Jisshu Sengupta doesn’t know what his character actually does professionally. ... » read more

I shall only add that the small roles/cameos by Arindam Sil,Tathoi Deb,Rezwana Banna were awesome......
The opening scene where young Radhika(Tathoi) scripts her life was the perfect innovative idea by Ghosh.
Also, the scene where Paoli and Bipasha were in and out in the same frames........ » read more

2 movie released at that moment, "Raktanjali" and "Sab charitra kalpanik". What is common and difference in 2 movies?
    First tell about common,.
both movies script written so badly,
But differnce? it is hell and heaven difference regarding 2 directors.
Rituporna Ghosh and Paresh nath Paul.
"SCK" is producer is too "BIG" and "Raktanjali" producer is too "small".
"SCK" director have no compromise to cast, even he can cast big star like Bipasha.
and "Raktanjali" director compromise to cast, they cast Koel as heroine, Not Keol Mullick, it is keol ... » read more
