This is the story of a singer, his passions, agonies and desires. The story goes on in flash back. Jayanta Mukherjee, a famous singer, comes to Kolkata after many years. He recognises his well wishers who had refused to give him a platform in his struggling days. Indrani, Jayanta's former fiance wanted to reunite their old relations. But Jayanta does not want to do so since he knows that Indrani loves his money and glamour, not him.Indrani's brother also did not like this relation. He wanted to kill Jayanta. This was revealed to Swati, Jayanta's childhood friend Bimal's sister. She rushed to Jayanta's house to save him. There grows a new relation between Jayanta & Swati. Jayanta could not recogonise Swati. Swati fell in love with Jayanta but could not express so, as they were from a middle class family. Ultimately Jayanta came to know about Swati's feelings on the day when Swati was going to have her engagement. Indrani could not leave Jayanta. So when Jayanta went to meet Swati, Indrani also tried to accompany them. There is an accident. Swati rushees to the hospital and finds Jayanta in coma.
