Onir's Sorry Bhai is a good attempt to showcase the emotional turmoils of a family that is torn between two brothers over their common love interest. While the movie is impressive with its top-notch camera-work on the visuals, and some witty moments in the first part, the other half becomes spoiled with a dragging end. An unimpressive twist to to bring up a happy end doesnt make me happy either.

Shabana Azmi and Boman Irani's performance literally lit up the environment while the comeback girl Chitrangada Singh impresses. Sharman joshi looks misfit to the role ... » read more

I will be honest (as I strive to be honest in whatever I do) and admit that I went to watch this movie only for Chitrangda...Her last two films (Hazaaron..., and Kal) impressed me enough to believe that this movie would be worth a watch...and with no further knowledge of the other inputs (Boman-Shabana, the Director, Sharman etc.) I went in the cinema hall with low expectations.

I found the movie urban, evolved, witty and real.

The story is wierd, and slightly alienating if I was to describe it to someone, but the character of Bhavna is so real. She is ... » read more

    Lame Climax.

Let me start of by saying that I am a huge fan of Onir. Bas ek Pal is my all time favorite. So if i give 3/5 to his movie, its given that there is a flaw in the movie. And the flaw is the climax. The entire series of twists and turns (characterisitic of Onir) that preceded the climax deserved a better treatment. Infact its not a climax at all. Its so poor, you almost feel cheated.
The chemistry between Shabana and Bomman is pretty good. Chitrangada is hot and sizzling. She characterises the dilemma that all of Onir's heroines have... remember ... » read more

    SURPRISINGLY GOOD!

Sorry Bhai is a movie which one would come away feeling pleasantly surprised with. Expactations were not high, and it delivered an unusual story quite seamlessly.

Some very witty and real dialogues in the movie, which stay with you even after the movie is over.

Chitrangda Singh looked good and fit into her role with ease. Sanjay Suri and Sharmaan seemed made for the parts they played and Boman and Shabana were absolutely splendid in their roles. All the actors together, with the director did a good job of making the characters ... » read more

    Thank You Anirban

Onir has so far tried his hands on serious cinema with areas which are Taboo to talk in the society, and less covered in Bollywood. This time, for a change, he is into something light, with a pinch of seriousness.

Navin Mathur (Boman Irani) and Gayatri (Shabana Azmi) stay with their younger son Sid (Sharman Joshi), who is a “kutta-udaaoo” budding scientist in search of the research grant. Gayatri controls the house and the residents. Their elder son Harsh is settled in Mauritius and breaks the news of his marriage taking place there. ... » read more

    ''No Sorries, Only Thank You''

Here’s a Rom-com of its own kind that neither banks on sexy bods or risqué humour. It doesn’t even have big stars or Grand sets (the current trend). It just has a bunch of hugely capable actors and Onir’s conviction that helps it sail through despite a few loose ends and a slow pace.

Sorry Bhai is not a very original story, but thanks to the way its twisted, modified and re-written to cater to the multiplex mindsets without losing its soul – it retains its unique charm throughout and remains the bittersweet comedy it is, ... » read more
