Raban had already kidnapped Sita from Panchabati forest. Sita was then captive in "Ashoke Kanan" of Lanka. Raban's younger brother Bibhisan was through out of the Kingdom as he spoke about Sita's release. Ram Chandra Started his war in Lanka with a few non Aryan soldiers. In the war, many demons were killed Bibhisan's son Taranisen also died. Being troubled by Bibhisan's wife Sarama's lament Indrajit disguised one of his faithful demon in to Sita, and killed her infront of Lakshman and Hanuman. To kill Indrajit for killing Sita, Lakshman secretly entered the palace of Ravan with the help of Hanuman, Lakshman Killed Indrajit and took revenge of killing Sita. To take revenge of Indrajit murder, Raban applied his powerful weapon on Lakshman. Being hit by that weapon Lakshman lost his senses. Ram picked up unconscious body of Lakshman and took it to his camp. Hamuman saved the life of Lakshman bringing Bishalyakarani from Gandhmadan Mountain. Then started the battle between Ram and Raban. But after sometime Ram Chandra realized that as Raban was blessed by goddess Durga, it was very difficult to defeat him in the battle. So Ram Chandra arranged for a untimely arousing of goddess Durga in the autumn. But he was unable to see Durga even after four days of worshipping. Then he decided to uproot his eyes. When he was about to do that, the goddess Durga appeared there and prevented him from uprooting his eyes. At last getting the blessing of the goddess Ram Chandra was able to defeat and rescued Sita.
