Who says Straight is Boring ?

Vinay Pathak has been exploring the new and different genre in Hindi Cinema. His latest offering is about a man who is confused whether he is straight or Gay. We have seen couple of serious films and Comedy films on this topic. But this movie is more on the confusion of the main protagonist and that too in funny way.

‘Straight’ is story of Pinu Patel [Vinay Pathak] a London based Indian running a restaurant, who along with his Uncle [Rasik Dave] and Aunt [Ketki Dave] goes to India to get married. But fate has its own way, ... » read more

Straight is not a straight movie, although the movie itself straight fully saying that it’s a tedhi medhi love story. Now don’t be straight blank, believe me it’s not a so straight kind of film. Vinay Pathak here is a very straight kinda person but at his 40 he was not at all straight. Then Gul comes straight fully in his life and his straight life converts into tedhi medhi love story. Straight fully confused?? Lolzzz anyways, in a simple words, the story is quite simple but bold too. Vinay is a virgin here and not being able to make a relationship with any girl. Loved the film totally. Given the perfect tagline which himself indicates the idea of the whole film. Vinay’s and Gul’s performance needs to be applauded. Although its true that first half was little bit of stretcher but the second half took his speed and a light hearted comedy evolves out. This week if you are looking for some good comedy film and wanted to release out your tension and stress then this film is perfect for you. I would recommend please organize some of your time to see this movie. Theres lots of confusion created in this film but that’s what makes you ... » read more

Yet another movie on Gay. It feels great that our industry is now thinking beyond the future and making such film with such topics that tries to change the people perspective for gay person in the society. I am still recollecting those days that how society was reacting to the gay persons and they were loosing their respect in the society although they have equal right to have respect from the society. But thanks to such film-makers that they are showing such kind of issues on a broad minded basis so that audience would change their point of view. There’s a beautiful statement ... » read more

    Too Straight?!!

Straight was perhaps just a little bit too staid. The movie is about a man who runs a restaurant in London, called Pinu, who was jilted by the girl he was supposed to marry. Pinu has never been intimate with a woman and the conflict within himself increases as he becomes more and more unsure about his own sexuality. He eventually comes close to two people who come to work with him, a cashier (Gul Panag) and a cook-cum-stand up comedian (Anuj Chaudhary). The movie then deals with the escapades that he undertakes to discover his sexual identity.
