The film starts showing Subha working at a motor garage with his friends. One day he repairs the car of a rich businessman. On the other hand, Subha's father mortgages their house to Ramani Babu for some money. Subha gets a job in the businessman's office. Rajani is the daughter of the businessman. Subha meets Rajani and they fall in love. Rajani's father however has fixed her marriage with Dhiman, the son of a rich businessman. Dhiman impregnates Lakshmi and now Dhiman disowns her for which she takes shelter at Nitai's place. Nitai is the owner of a motor garage. In the meanwhile, Subha's elder brother Priyanath meets with an accident. Rajani proposes marriage to Subha, but Subha refuses. On the day of Rajaini and Dhiman's marriage Nitai comes and identifies Dhiman. Nitai informs Rajani's father about Dhiman and tries to convince Dhiman to accepted Lakshmi and her son Raja. Rajani's father then comes to know of Rajani and Subha's love affair. The film ends with the ringing of this duo's wedding bells.
