Born on 5th of December, the man who has done more than 100 films and has made up a good name in the industry. He is the father of the bollywood star ‘Vivek Oberoi’ who has started his career from the mega blockbuster film “Company”.

He was born in the town of ‘Quetta’ and is a recipient of 1987 National Film Award for the Best Supporting Actor.

Suresh Oberoi has recently won the All India Achievers Conference's Award for Excellence. Oberoi was in Delhi for receiving AIAC Award for Excellence for his contribution to films.
Sureshji was as good in studies as he is in acting. This commerce graduate was doing his CA (Chartered Accountant) when the stroke of working in films "my first love" as he calls it, hit him hard. In search of "different roles" other than a boy sobbing, dancing, he lapped up roles that provided him ample chance to establish himself as an actor.
He is also a quite bit of emotional human being when it comes to family. HE WAS in tears when he saw Vivek Oberoi receiving the Screen Award for "Saathiya" (2002). He threw a flying kiss to him as the son thanked him on the stage, swabbing tears.
His first film when he appeared in the Big Screen was “Jeevan Mukt” (1977) which was directed and produced by ‘Sudhendhru Roy’.
His next film was “Kartavya” starring Dharmendra & Rekha which was released on 11th of May 1979, directed and produced by ‘Mohan Sehgal’
Then he appeared in the film “Suraksha” starring Mithun Chkaraborty, directed and produced by Ravikant Nagaich, released on 22nd of June 1979.
His Big break came from his next film “Kaala Patthar” (released on 24th of August 1979) under the banner of Yash Raj which was also directed by him Mr. Yash Chopra starring many known actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Shatrugan Sinha, etc. The film made a huge success all over.
After then he was seen in many films like “Ek Baar Phir” (1980), “Ek Baar Kaho” (1980), “Morcha” (1980), “Phir Wohi Raat” (1980), “Pyaara Dushman” (1980), and etc.
Recently he appeared in “Socha Na Tha” (2005) starring Abhay Deol & Ayesha Takia, directed by ‘Imtaiz Ali’.
His upcoming films are “Karma, Confessions and Holi” starring Randeep Hooda & Sushmita Sen, directed by ‘Manish Gupta’ and “Aaap Jaisa Koi nahin” starring Puru Raaj Kumar & Sharbani Mukherjee, directed by ‘Saleem Ali Khan’. Both are under the Post-Production process.
But acting is not the only thing he does. He had also done a playback singing in the film “Yaadon Ka Muasam” (1990) starring Kiran Kumar & Sushma Seth, directed by ‘Salahuddin Pervez’. Besides acting and singing, he was also hosting the show "Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai" on Zee TV and besides all this he writes too -- "romantic and philosophical poetry". Being well read himself, he corrects you if you utter a couplet wrong and will tell you the poet's name too. He is due to come out with a book of his poetry "very soon".
