I think this is one of the ebst performances of SRK. Not his ususal typical role, he actually came out of the SRK clamshell, and showed glimpses of what good actor he really is. The movie touches the right bases to justify its nomenclature, and the sense of self achievement has been very well distributed among common people.
Sacrifice is not always an easy thing. But sometimes indeed "janmabhumi" is larger than anything else in our life. We want to die where we were born.
From a technical standpoint also the movie is really sound. Ashutosh Gowarikar movies are always different. He reaches out to common people in India, villages where people like to keep it simple, where stil people can extract joy out of evening breeze after a long working day. In that sense, Swades is really a tell of our motherland.
