My Rating

  • A supposedly gripping thriller movie. Not really.

Table No. 21 rating: 3 out of 10(Aditya Prasad wrote on 10 Jan 2013)

A couple goes for a vacation to Fiji, someone entices them to play a game to get 21 crores by answering just 7 questions and performing 7 simple tasks. Sounds like a combo of KBC and Roadies! And then movie runs for almost 2 hours.

This movie stars the great actor - Paresh Rawal, the 'Sach Ka Samna' host and 1 movie that took him to stardom (Aamir) - Rajeev Khandelwal and fairly new with only few not so popular movies - Tena Desae.

Paresh Rawal is the host of the game with questions and tasks but if you are a Kaun Banega Crorepati fan, you will not like what goes on in this movie. For that matter even Roadies tasks are better, but then by the end of the movie you would know why the tasks are chosen and for what reason.

From the very beginning you would realize that Paresh knows much more about the couple than just pretending to be a host of this show, which apparently is an online show watched by millions, this part was not convincing enough though. Rajeev does ok acting, I loved him in Aamir more. This lady Tena is hot alright but needs good number of acting classes to get to the right level. Paresh as usual is good at what he does but the character did not have much to offer hence he does whatever he can to do justice to his role.

The essential theme of this movie is NOT about a game show which runs for almost one and half hour, it's something else and it looks like the director wanted that to be a surprise, I wonder why! The heart of this movie revolves around a crime that has been prevalent among students in India, watch it to know more.

All in all a shorter movie would have been better, editor should be pulled up for not cutting many dragged scenes. It's a good TV watch, am sure it would be in on one of the movie channels within a month or two. But yeah this movie with a budget of only 10 crores has already made more than 30 crores. So business wise its a hit! I call it OK.
