Story is based on style and lots of surprises with element of comedy and action.Wont reveal the story as it will kill the entertaining part.Saif was mostly on the backseat,Kareena Kapoor looked gorgeous,Anil kapoor irritates after some funny scenes in start. But Akshay doesnt dissappoint,he is excellent in almost all departments.Weak link are the action scenes, background music.Positives are akshay, kareena, good picturisation of songs, some dialogues.Overall, its one time watch film, akshay's and kareena's tashan works, rest fails.I will give it 2 out of 5. » read more

“In The Name Of Desi Masala”.. Bollywood means Songs, Action, Drama, Emotions, Romance, etc. In short a total masala mix of all. Based on this school of thought, loads of such movies were made in 80’s era. Cinematic liberties, Non Existence of Story, etc were part of the deal. After that decade ended the romance trend started and now we see multiple genres of movies. “Tashan” tries to revisit the masala era of 80’s. But ends up like an old wine in a new bottle. ‘Tashan’ is a story of Jimmy [Saif Ali Khan], a Call Center Executive, who also teaches English with ... » read more

PLOT: Bhaiyaji (Anil), with the help of Puja (Kareena), hires Jimmy (Saif), a call-centre employee, to teach him English. Puja and Jimmy fall in love. Later, Jimmy learns the truth about Bhaiyaji’s identity, but just a bit too late. Puja disappears, taking along with her Bhaiyaji’s bag full of money. Bhaiyaji calls for hitman Bachchan Pandey (Akshay) to track them down and bring back all the money that Puja had fled away with. Watch out for the twists that take place at regular intervals..! WHAT WORKS? Firstly, the look/feel of the film is absolutely great!! Cinematography ... » read more

Tashan - 'The' Hindi Phillum. The movie starts with 'the' in the title credits. Offlate this is a new way people have learned to bash English language, by adding 'the' to everything they speak. Anyways, I was not at all expecting the movie to be any great, and after some reviews I was rather expecting it to be terrible and thus after watching it thankfully I wasn't anything such as disappointed. I really don't know if I liked the movie or disliked it. Anyways, lets talk about flaws which everyone is pointing. Flaws? There are so many that I lost the count in ... » read more

May compete the 'worst' label in the history of hindi movie. U have to really keep your brain outside the hall to see this. No sensible person can do away with regretting the waste of time behind this movie. No storyline, No thoughts behind the screenplay, no acting (perfect term in hindi may be NAUTANKI), even the Z grade horror movies are better. Its perhaps time for movie viewers not to expect too much from Yash raj banner as earlier. Very good proof of the fact that Aditya Chopra should limit himself into film direction. The movies produced by him are horrible » read more

I know there have been worse movies than this. But all of them didn’t have such a great star cast and a name like Aditya Chopra to back. Yash Raj films is really losing its dignity now. In an attempt to encourage fresh talent, It is giving such big-time opportunities to people like Vijay Krishna Acharya who don’t even realise its worth, and make a mess of it. And I feel Its upon us to draw the line where Masala entertainment is separated from Non-sense. Period. Rating - *1/2 » read more

Akki deserves praises for acquiring the U.P. lingo quite well, but he really needs to stop making silly gestures to make the audience laugh. Kareena was quite good, and looked in sync with the feel of the movie. May be it was the Jab We Met hangover(which I saw on Saturday night before catching This one on Sunday). But I really liked Bebo. This is one of Anil Kapoor’s weakest performances. Some of his one-liners were funny, no doubt, but I don’t know what was the writer thinking while sketching his character. Saif over-acted mostly, but was fab at places too. Manoj ... » read more

And I don’t understand what was so good about its Camera work. Its high time people understand the difference between Picturesque Locales and Cinematography. And Mind you, even they were forced. Ladakh in way from Mumbai to Haridwar. I never thought such a day would come when Film-makers would go to any extents and shoot their movie anywhere just to get right visuals, irrespective of where the story is going. Except for “Chaliya” and to an extent “Dil Dance Mare”, The songs are badly designed. However, Vishal Shekhar must be applauded for breaking moulds and never ... » read more

The film is definitely enjoyable in bits n pieces, but it only bores you in its entirety. Actually, It doesn’t even bore You, as in boring films You tend to become unaware of whats happening on screen. But during Tashan, You are very much aware of the goings-on, As it has caused a severe head-ache by the time you reach the climax. Even Action scenes provoke laughter. They give up logic completely. And I Mean COMPLETELY. The direction is so-damn-confused that You don’t know whether to laugh or feel emotional in some scenes. The funniest scene was When the child ... » read more

The movie could have been made on a nice screwball note with a tinge of madcap humour, but it tried its hand it everything and ends up doing nothing. Its clearly visible at places, That the director wanted to pay a tribute to the typical Hindi fillum of the yesteryears. But then, He goes the Slick n stylish way at times too. And the final product looks Sabhar ‘n’ Chutney poured over Capsicum Pizza. In someone’s words, We don’t laugh or enjoy with the film but at the sheer silliness of it all. It becomes a bit too silly at times, to be even tolerated. » read more
