Tees Maar Khan had various reasons for high expectations :
1.It's A Christmas Release like "Ghajini", "3 Idiots" & more
2.It's Akshay - The Entertainment Package
3.It's Farah - The Two Blockbuster "Main Hoon Na" & "Om Shanti Om" giver
4.It's Katrina(Sheila) - Who tempted the whole country by her JAWANI
5.The Hilarious Promos & Many Of Rumors in people
6.The Music by Vishal-Shekhar of which fame has spread like wild fire
But, the most of all, for which many mindless comedies like "AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI", "WELCOME", "NO PROBLEM", "PARTNER" have made a good place in Box-Office, The same old "Comedy without any story" formula has risen keen interest in people's mind to watch TMK. Akshay, who is the topper in this formula has added charm to it. Long awaited Katrina makes a comeback along with Farah. Now tell me, why won't people rush to book advance tickets of TMK?
Tabrez Mirza Khan(Akshay Kumar) or Tees Maar Khan, A die-hard theif, who tells himself "THE CON ARTIST" gets a contract to steal antiques worth Rs. 200 Crore from a highly-secured train. So, he comes up with a plan to direct a film "Bharat Ka Khazana" which soon will help him too rob the train. TMK is not alone. His three co-thieves have joined the venture and not knowing anything about the main plan , Anya(Katrina Kaif), Aatish Kapoor(Akshaye Khanna) & the whole village Dhulia join him. Will He Succeed in his mission?
First of all, there's no damn good main plot here but many comic sub-plots make their place which saves the film from being a disaster. But what is important is that by going to the formula, Farah catches the right track to entertain people.
Akshay Kumar as Tees Maar Khan manges himself perfectly with that wacky, over-confident & con type superiority delivering in his character. His perfect comedy-timing, sense and those perfect dialog-throwing makes him the apple of the eyeballs. A thief like this can be loved by any person, the way Akki has presented him.
Katrina has never acted in any movie nor do her dialog-throwing have that perfect Indian feel. But, her major point is that to snatch eyeballs, she doesn't need any acting shit. Her more than gorgeous face, her body languages, her 'to die for' curves, her sexy figure - all of them are enough for the rain of whistles and shouts in the theaters. Seeing her in any movie's poster automatically creates interest for the movie's release. So, the abatement caused by 'The fail in acting Anya' is compensated by 'Sheila and her sex-factor".
Akshaye Khanna was perfect for that over-actor, Oscar-mad Aatish who bites his nails and hisses in anger seeing Anil Kapoor dancing at Jai Ho holding the Oscar. Even he is a good actor(very rare in bollywood, but he can act somehow), the overacting which was needed for his role was brilliantly brought up by him. So, he is appreciative for that. Murli Sharma & Aman Verma, 'The Chatterjee & Mukherjee Gay Couple' were reason for some giggles. Arya Babbar's(Insp. Dhurandar) X-factor was spontaneous. Sachin Khedekar & Vinay Patkar were fine. Raghu & Rajiv were yawn! Ali Asgar & Vijay Maurya are wasted.
An unexpected fall which was not expected from her, accidentally arrives for Farah Khan. Even in past, she has worked on two films with super-sensitive scripts, this time she has made a bad choice. Maybe, conflict with SRK has made her that blind to work with Akki whom she can't handle perfectly like Priyadarshan or David Dhawan. Her try was good, but she forgot that public & critics will be a little shocked after getting a film like this film from her. Overall, What SRK is(was) for Farah's directorial, Akki has failed to defend that. Insensitive story by Shirish Kunder, funny but dull script by Shirish & Ashmit Kunder leads TMK to a pothole. Costumes by Aki Narula &
Sanjeev Mulchandani, Music By Vishal-Shekhar & Dialogues By Ashmit Kunder are the only elements that can be called "SAVIOUR". Anil Kapoor & Salman Khan's guest appearance along with "Sheila Ki Jawani" were the icing on the cake.
"Tees Maar Khan" doesn't need to worry about box-office success because the way to be a HIT(or maybe SUPER HIT) is smooth like butter for it. It's a notorious type of flick that public always enjoy watching and will be enjoying further but as for critics, it's gonna face many ups and downs and mixed verdicts. Evan, Akshay's charm & Katrina's beauty tries to prevent the flaws in the script, they are just not enough for the full satisfaction of critics. Final Word? Tees Maar Khan is neither a poor show, nor a must watch, it's just that it has enough Masala in it to save itself from the cruel impact of abusers.
