STORY IN SHORT: ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ deals with true love. It shows how a couple can be deeply in love with each other and vow to be together in every life that follows. The story is set in Bombay (1960’s) with Govind and Rukhsar, England (2012) with Radha and Krish, and Punjab (1910) with Aradhana and Javed. The film deals with the ups and downs in the life of a couple and how they meet in every life.
TRAILER of ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ is something to look out for. In spite of dealing with such an outdated subject of rebirths, it still has the potential to hold your attention. The shayaris, humour and the acting by Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor add a kind of shimmer to the already shining trailer. Hope the movie is as interesting.
The music album of ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ is not crammed with unwanted dozen of songs, but has a reasonable number of them. The album has variety as it deals with the golden era as well as the present generation. Let’s have a look at the music album of the film.
HUMSE PYAAR KARLE TU… is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Mika Singh. The song reminds us about qawaali where each party has an answer to counterattack the other. Lyrics are amazingly written, but the music fails to score high and becomes boring gradually. Shreya’s voice and the lyrics are the only specialty of the song.
MUKHTASAR… sung by Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal is good, but not excellent. It has a youthful feeling (may be because of the picturization) but again, the music is not very great. It may go well with those who like smooth and simple songs but if you are a kind who loves grooving on the songs then this may not interest you.
JAB SE MERE DIL KO UFF… sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal is one of the few good songs in this album. The song reprises the golden era of Shammi Kapoor and Dev Anand. The song, in a way, is a tribute to these legendary actors. The lyrics are average, but the music scores high here. Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra share an awesome chemistry in the song. It will stay for long.
ALLAH JAANE… sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a simple song depicting the feeling of a person who is head over heels in love with someone. The tabla beats in the background is amazing and add grace to the song. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s voice and the way he finishes the song is superb. It’s a simple song with a graceful beauty in it.
THAT'S ALL I REALLY WANNA DO… is a typical 21st century Bollywood song consisting of Hindi and English lines. However, the liveliness in the song adds a fresh feel to it. Sung by Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal, the song is full of enthusiasm and positive energy which will drive you to add it your playlist. Shaan and Shreya have also done a good job. The song will not only be liked by the youngsters, but also by kids as it fairly sounds like their rhymes.
BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS...The trailer is appealing while the songs are a mixed bag of good and average. If we go by the trailer, the film has humour, style, nostalgia, good actors and their great chemistry. All these factors will definitely attract people to hop into their nearest theatres despite the rain; but if we go by the songs then the chances are 50-50, as some of the songs are very good while some of them are too average.
Also, films on rebirths, flashbacks and reincarnations have hardly tasted success. Films like ‘Love Story 2050’, ‘Action Replay’, ‘Dangerous Ishhq’, are examples of audience not accepting this idea. However, we should not forget that ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Karan Arjun’ went on to become huge successes. If ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ oozes out similar juicy storyline and sequences, it will definitely rake moolah at the box-office, after all it has two popular actors in it!
