Tezz is an unapologetic, unacknowledged copy of the 1975 Japanese film The Bullet Train. Director Priyadarshan and writer Robin Bhatt liberally lift the plot and entire sequences from the film. So here too, we have a bomb on a train that will blow up if the train slows down. But protagonists in Hindi cinema who indulge in criminal activities must be accessorised with a suitably tragic backstory. So the mastermind behind this heinous deed — Aakash, played by Ajay Devgnmore

Perhaps it's appropriate that Priyadarshan no longer refers to himself as director of his films, choosing instead to go with the credit "Filmed by Priyadarshan". The extent of his involvement on 'Tezz' for one, hardly qualifies as anything more than mere 'filming', given that it's an unapologetic rip-off of the popular Japanese film, 'The Bullet Train'. Ajay Devgn stars as an engineer in London who's deported home to India when the authorities discovermore

Riveting action movies are a rarity in Bollywood. Action movies that stand out come along once every few years. TEZZ, helmed by Priyadarshan, is one of them. The story of TEZZ is uncomplicated… A team of Asians place a bomb on a high-speed train. The authorities receive an anonymous threat that a triggered bomb has been planted on a bullet train operating between London and Glasgow. If the train decelerates or loses speed below a certain tempomore

Look carefully - Tezz shows you a London Bollywood hasn't explored before. Forget those chiffon saree-soirees, lush parks and cream teas - Tezz's London showcases illegal Indian migrants trapped between violent ghettoes and furious policemen, wet sewers, oily garages and bomb-strapped garbage bins. This is a gritty city, normally shown as every Indian's vacation paradise - but what happens to those who want to live there, even illegallymore

Priyadarshan is a comedy film man. Well, mostly. With Tezz, he has tried to pull a fast one. Pun not intended. “English filmein bahut dekhta hoga,” says Arjun Khanna (Anil Kapoor), retired counterterrorism officer in the UK. The same can be said about Priyadarshan. He liberally uses Hollywood film Speed as reference point to tezz his train of thought. It’s officially an action thriller, no denying that. You know something’s wrong when you laughmore

Illegal immigration is the take-off point for Priyadarshan's Tezz. But that's just the subtext. In truth, the film is full of Hollywood-style car chases amidst a long-running game of cat and mouse between Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn. Aakash (Devgn) is an engineer who runs his own firm, Global Services in London but is deported to India for violating immigration laws. His protégé Aadil (Zayed Khan) and his foster sister Megha (Sameera Reddy) are also theremore

For a thriller that created more buzz for an item number than for its action, you know what to expect. And you don’t even have to wait too long…. barely a few minutes into the film and Mallika Sherawat pops up to do her Laila act. Over and done with the song, as you wait for the action to unfold, there’s another coming along… Ajay Devgn and Kangna Ranaut break into a romantic number. Never mind that there’s a bomb ticking away on a trainmore

TEZZ is the second film of the week set within a day. It's breezy and Tezz, as the name suggests. Priyadarshan, best known for comedies, gets his cast off the blocks in a jiffy, and there's action right from the word go. If you are looking for some slick action drama, then hop on to this train with over 500 people on board from Glasgow to London. Aaakash (Ajay Devgn) has planted a bomb on this train. His demand is a huge sum in ransommore

The word Tezz has different connotations. It means speedy and it also implies sharp. While Priyadarshan's action thriller undoubtedly is life in the fast lane, one can't essentially say it's a sharp story. But it isn't blunt either! Aakash (Ajay Devgn) has set bombs on a train speeding from London to Glasgow. Retired counter-terrorism officer Arjun Khanna (Anil Kapoor) is summoned to investigate the case. As Arjun tries to negotiate with Aakash, he simultaneously attemptsmore

Priyadarshan should stick to making comedies; action is definitely not his forte. If you don’t believe me, watch Tezz at your own risk. The film is a mishmash of Hollywood actioners like Speed, Unstoppable and The Taking Of Pelham 123. In fact, fellow reviewers and I had a gala time guessing which scene was copied from which film. The plot has more holes than seven-year-old Swiss cheese. Why was Anil Kapoor called back on his retirement day to face a fresh crisis?more

Tezz is about an illegal immigrant, Aakash Rana (Ajay Devgan), who is deported back to India from the UK because he is working there without a work permit. Aakash’s wife, Nikita (Kangna Ranaut) is left back alone in the UK. Four years later, Aakash returns to London and teams up with Aadil Khan (Zayed Khan) and Megha (Sameera Reddy). He plants a bomb on a London-Glasgow passenger train and asks for 10 million Euros as ransommore

“Aajkal izzat maangne se nahi milti, chheenni padti hai” (You don’t get respect by asking for it these days, you have to snatch it), says Akash Rana (Ajay Devgn) a few minutes into Priyadarshan’s new film. Before you can snap your fingers, Akash and his accomplices Adil (Zayed Khan) and Megha (Sameera Reddy) have planted a bomb on a train from London to Glasgow, and are demanding 10 million pounds to defuse it. Cut to the British railway control roommore

Action thriller 'Tezz', inspired by the Hollywood hit 'Speed', means to leave you on the edge of your seat. But Priyadarshan, a director who's known making great comedy films, must have lost the brief during the making. How else do you explain all the unexpected (and unintentional) humour? In an immigration raid, Aakash Rana (Ajay Devgn) is deported back to India from the United Kingdom, much to the dismay of his wife Nikita (Kangna Ranautmore
