There is an engagement party at Amarnath Mullick’s house on the occasion of his daughter Rinita getting engaged to Rajat. After the party is over and everyone has left,
a cop Tinkari Haldar arrives and tells them that a girl named Sandhya Mondol has committed suicide in the Goabagan Bustee. She has left behind a diary where all their names (Mr Mullick, his wife, his son Arin, his daughter Rinita and Rajat, Rinita’s would be husband names are mentioned). When all of them deny knowing her, Tinkari Haldar shows all of them her photograph individually and it is revealed that all of them knew her under different names and had done injustice to her in some way or the other. They all tell their own stories of how they had come across her and had done injustice to herAfter Tinkari Haldar goes away leaving behind the diary, it is discovered that there is nothing written in the diary and no cop by the name of Tinakari Haldar is there at Padmapukur Thana. Soon after they receive a call from someone saying a girl named Sandhya Mondol had indeed committed suicide at Goabagan Bustee and their names had been found in her diary and a cop was on his way to interrogate them. All of them then wonder as to who this person Tinkari Haldar actually was and maybe according to Arin, he was actually their conscience who had paid them a visit to remind them of a few realities in life.
